About UsThe Canadian Amphibious Search Team (C.A.S.T.) is a group of volunteers with the capability of a professional search and recovery team. Our main goal is to assist grieving families when a tragic accident on the water has left a loved one lost. CAST Central Region will conduct underwater investigations only after official agencies have abandoned their search. We will reinvestigate the incident by reviewing the details of the waterway, interviewing witnesses, and examining previous searches. The CAST Central team has about 20 dedicated volunteers and is based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Our primary areas of service are Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta. On request from CAST Pacific, we will assist in British Columbia. How Much Does It Cost?A search by commercial divers would be cost prohibitive even if they were willing to take on the job. CAST Central Region requires only cost recovery on expenses such as food, accommodations and fuel. If a family wishes to donate an amount over and above basic expenses that money will be used to help pay for the next search or provide needed safety equipment for the dive team. CAST is a non-profit organization and our team members receive no remuneration.
